What is the purpose of these? Should I consider adding one if I don't have one and finally will they fit with a Webber carb? As alays thanks in advance.

Every rover I have seen with a heatshield has a crack on the #4 exhaust manifold, kindding but it does seem to happen. Leave it off, its just another bill.

Thanks for the reply. Its always nice not to have to chase missing parts.

One thing they do is prevent some of the manifold heat from heating up the floor and making the cab warmer inside. Of course, most of the time you want the cab to be warmer inside- so leaving it off is still an option. If you live somwhere where its usually really hot, anything to cool off the cab would be desireable and a heat sheild would help.
