    Question Piston rods = teardown

03 DII: Have a harsh ticking sound from the engine and the owner of the local rover shop said "piston rods". I was wondering the extent of this repair and what would be the best thing to do since the engine is being pulled. Is only the top end going to be torn down or is the entire engine being pulled apart? Reason being if the entire engine is going to be torn apart the a complete reseal and replacement of lifters probably should be done. Anything other recommendations to do if the engine is going to be pulled for a rod replacement? Im sure the shop as good as they are will estimate an astonishing amount of shop hours and "to do's". Just seeing who had experience with this.
