Thread: Automatic Transmission refill

    Default Automatic Transmission refill

What is the proper procedure for checking the automatic tansmission fluid after installing a new filter? There is no dipstick.
Book says it holds 9.2qts, but no way to get that much into the pan without it running back out the fill hole

Refer to my other post on your thread.

I plan to do it long overdue ATF change over the weekend.
Thanks for the detailed instruction and photos! Far comprehensive than other manuals I was looking at!

Easy, buy a DI sump while yours is off, swap it on. Refill through a true dipstick.

bad idea, filling the d1 autobox to the correct level is a real pain, the D2 fill - overflow is far simpler.
