Default SIII Steering wheel trim piece assembly

How is the SIII trim piece bolted/screwed in around the steering column?
I have two screws in the front that screw the two plastic pieces together, a hole on each side, and two holes on the bottom.

I know two screws attach the front pieces together....check.
The bottom two holes attach to a metal plate that has slots in it....I ran two bolts and used nuts to attach this. However, it keeps rattling loose. Same thing for the side holes. What am I supposed to use?

IIRC, there are supposed to be u-nuts attached to the metal plates with the slots in them.
