    Default Work light install

Bought a Rover work lamp from our hosts. It does not come with instructions so my question is does anyone have any, or a suggestion on how to wire or can you point me to a link!

I searched this site and could not find a DII install and a web search came up with a few ideas but apart from running wires from the front to the back back no indication if that is a requirement or a nice to have method. The kit comes with a switch, a length of red and black wires.

    Thought or ideas!

For a “Genuine Part ” I thought it was odd that no instructions came with the box!

I searched the web and there are lots of ideas, hook it up the reverse switch, put a switch inside the cab or just wire it so that the built in switch controls it.

I took the easy route. While installing some Hella lights on the front of the roof rack I ran extra wire up the plastic trim piece on the side of the window and along the roof rack to the rear of the vehicle. It was run in such a way that a branch is unlikely to snag it and it is inside a corrugated plastic sleeve. The light feeds off of a fused link to the battery with a master switch under the hood. This way when the truck is in the driveway the rear light cannot be turned on maliciously resulting in a drained battery.

The light was tested on a recent trip to the North country and was very useful on arrival at the hunt camp.
