1962 Series IIA 88" Station Wagon for sale. This is an original west coast truck that was shipped to Virginia two years ago from California. The price is $18,500 and is the truck is located in Fredericksburg, VA 22405. The high price is reflective of a high end truck. This is truly a vehicle that can be driven daily and needs no work.
The truck is rust free. The truck has had a frame off restoration, with the complete body dismantled, painted Sand color and put back together. The trim was re-galvanized and placed on the body with the correct Genuine Land Rover "Hammer Rivets" both inside and out. The bulkhead is in excellent condition. Sound proofing was added to the bulkhead both in the engine compartment and cab as well as the seat box. The truck has the correct IIA door tops and door locks. The truck has the correct Deluxe Bonnet with wheel carrier along with the Tropical top. The frame is original and has been blasted and painted.
It has no rust but does have a few dings on the trans cross member.
The Interior includes D90 seats, new NOS speedometer (for 16" wheels) and NOS Gauge cluster, new autometer cobra mechanical oil pressure gauge, Sun tachometer, and a vintage smiths water temperature gauge. I have all of the major interior pieces with the tattered elephant hide still attached. The only peices which I do not have are the Jump Seats.
The truck has been completely rewired using modern wiring and fuse block and more reliable starting switches. The turn indicator has also been updated with a modern unit, which includes the hazard light function. The only Lucas components are the lights themselves.
The engine is a 3.0L Mercruiser Robert Davis conversion built with parts purchased from Robert. The motor was built by an engine builder in California and shows. Included are a custom Clifford intake and Jet coated Headers, Weber synch-linked carb, GM HEI ignition, Custom exhaust, Braided stainless hoses with Earl's fittings, MSD wires, and a Denso alternator. The engine was Dyno'ed and was stated to have 126HP at the wheels. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt full syncro series III transmission and a High Ratio Transfer case built by BCB offroad. This truck will truly do 70 mph with no problem. For stopping, series III power brakes were added.
The accesories on the truck include a Warn 8274 Winch, winch bumper from Ike at Pangolin 4x4, Rocky mountain light guards, Wise owl inertia reel seatbelts, Optima Bue Top Battery, Full Roof Rack, Hella
H4 headlamps, galvanized rock sliders, Mantec shovel and pickaxe mounts, Superwinch hubs, and 16" wheels with BF Goodrich Trac Edge tires.
There is just too much to list for this truck. Everything is either new or refurbished. It is by far one of the nicest trucks I have seen or owned.
