When you stop on the side of the motorway (freeway to you guys) to assist a young series driver whose bonnet is up, you change his fuel filter, fit a new connector to the feed wire to the condenser, and clean out float on the carbie. You get him to follow you off at the next ramp to a gas station and he says, smiling broadly, it's never run so good.

    - When you drive a Defender it seems like a luxury vehicle by comparison.

    - You don't give a second thought to driving through water to the tops of the tires (aside from fitting the wading plug).

    - You have a wading plug.

    - Loading it full of firewood is a perfectly normal thing. No, wait, I do that with my Disco too, so I guess that's not one.

When one of the dash warning lights comes on.......it won't be the check engine light.

You probably wouldn't know this being in Southern Arizona, but the yellow light is a check choke light which lets you know that the engine is warm enough for you to push in the choke knob. However the green and red lights are indeed check engine lights. The green light being the one you never ever want to see while driving.

The green, yellow and red dash lights are just different levels of "oh crud!"

I don't have my speedo in front of me - what's the green light?

Default you know your driving a series, when,,

Ok some of those were pretty funny, here I go,
You know your driving a series rover when, you can't hear the person sitting next to you,
you can't here your radio either,
you look in the rear view and see a line of cars,
mom's in a family van are passing you,
you start getting nervous when the gas gauge is around 1/4,
you buy the big jugs of 90w from the auto store,
    and finally,
you love driving a series rover when your at the top of a difficult climb and everyone else had a problem
    to name just a few,
