As early as possible. Camping at this event really motivates you to get up and get something warm to eat and drink. I am usually there warming up by 7am, unless something bad happens at the campsite...Originally Posted by Jim-ME

First time headed up there, can someone fill me in on the camping experience? I want to bring my dog (a requirement from my wife if I go) and my first instinct was to camp, but I'm not sure I have warm enough gear. Guessing the holiday inn doesn't want dogs...

I use a 3 season tent with cot/thermarest and a zero degree bag. This works for me down to about -25. Tent heaters do come in handy in the morning while you are contemplating crawling out of your sleeping bag.

According to the web site they are pet friendly at the Holiday Inn if you decide not to camp.
