We are not allowed to import any Defender newer than 25 years,(1987 is the newest we can get).

Shucks. We better get moving then and import as many as we can to elsewhere in the world, while they're still available :P

Can you not import "parts"? Maybe transfer the registration from an old one? I hear you guys do that quite a bit with series trucks.

The whole "vin-swapping" and importing "parts"(vehicles broken to body/chassis) definitely happens.

You wouldn't get away with that in this country. But, for now, you can import them. However that will not be for long because of their emissions ratings. For that reason, you can't import old models. Funny how things vary.

That is cool, I am very jealous. By the way, your signature says 2005 Disco 2 HSE, how is that possible?

It was one of the last Disco 2's to roll off the production line, within a few weeks of Disco 3 being released. A nice ride and most of the TD5 issues were long since eliminated.

Arghhh I am so envious you have a TD5 Disco.... we only received the poorly designed V8 here in the States. Almost every single one has the head gasket blow.

On the open road, with no trailer, I get 12l/100km, or around 23mpg in the Disco. Should be 11l/100km but it is chipped.

The Stage 1 is not so economical.
