Default Old Man Emu shock installation

So I finally bit the bullet on parabolics and new shocks.
I'm having difficulty installing the shocks .I cant get them to clear the axle housing . The older shocks were slightly smaller in diameter and just clear the Emus are larger and dont have clearance.
Am I missing something ? Its almost like I have to refab. the bottom spring plates shock holder back another 1'' or so ?????

    Sean-
Do you have a picture? Are you having the same problem front & rear? I installed OME shocks on a 63 88" that I restored without any issues at all. Installed them on the Lightweight as well. Front & rear spring plates are different - the front is a little longer IIRC. Any chance you have them swapped?

    Jeff,
They are definitively the front springs.I'll get a picture up a little later.I noticed that the old ones were slightly dented from bumping the axle as well.

Still thinking the spring plates may not be correct. Pictures will tell.

This sounds strange. My '67 has parabolics and OME and did not have any problem with clearance or mounting. Something sounds wonky.

Dealing with the same problem with ProComp shocks with my Rocky Mountain Parabolics. Same type of yahoo seems to have mixed up the front/back spring plates.
