    Default virgin 109 again....

I just got my 109 back from the shop. Put new radiator in and the running hot problem went away. Again, thanks to all for the help. Now, need some mo advice....67 109 with 250 chevy, 4 speed with overdrive...shifts well in all gears but 2nd...drops hard when I put it in 2nd and hard to down shift with high rpms into 2nd. what do you veterans think?

    Default double clutching?

Is it a IIA or III?

Could be a bad synchronizer, if you double clutch into or out of second it should work until it can be addressed.

    Default 1967

Did not see the date before. 1st and 2nd are straight cut gears, need to double clutch them both. Nothing wrong with your gearbox, it was built that way.
