    Default Door top Bolts

    Hello,

Can the door top mounting bolts be replaced? If so how? I am working on a 1972 Series 3 88".

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
I've never cut open the door top, but that is what it would require to replace the bolts. I sheared a couple of mine off earlier this year and just bit the bullet and bought new tops. I figured by the time I cut, installed new studs, re-welded the frame and painted I could have either a used or new aftermarket top for similar $.

No, series versions are not inherently replaceable like they are on defender door tops. Once they rust away it's usually much more realistic to just replace them like. Aftermarket (oem style) are available, Rocky Mountain tops are awesome and defender tops will also fit.
