Thread: Transmission front seal??

    Default Transmission front seal??

Hello, I am replacing seals/gaskets in my transmission/transfer case. It is from a 67 SIIa, 4cy gas. I think it is a 'D' suffix trans.

It looks like there is no front shaft seal (the shaft that goes to the engine). I took of the speedo housing, and will replace that gasket, but is there a front shaft seal? Looks like a bronze ring where a seal would normally sit (in front of the baring). I intend to re-use the T/O bearing as it looks to be in good shape.

    Thanks!
