Thread: Bad Noise From Engine

    Default Bad Noise From Engine

So maybe you remember seeing a thread where I was having engine troubles and low oil pressure right after having the truck down and out for 2.5 years. Well, over the winter I put a new (used) engine in.

It's a stock 2.25 petrol, and just about everything about it seems good. Or did.

I got it running and it has oil pressure from 20 at idle to 60-70 while driving, when warm.

Now I am starting to hear the same low end knock in this engine that began the death throws of the last engine. Not sure what to do. I've run it about 150 miles because my new brakes don't work well, so I have not been able to drive it much. But in that time this knock has developed, and it is getting worse.

Drop the pan and get a look at the bearings. Bearings are cheap and hopefully you can get to it early enough that no other damage will occur.
