Question 1967 Station Wagon.. Adding Military Bonnet Locks.

I need some direction on installing them.

    a) Where is the best location to install on each side? Is it pre marked some how?

b What is the best way to attach them to Bonnet and then fender.

    Thanks

I have them on mine and can measure the distance from the front of the bonnet to the hook except that mine are mounted upside down compared to the way a MOD truck has them mounted. There are no holes or marks where they go so it is simply measure, mark and drill.
I used stainless bolts with backing washers with a neoprene washer between the stainless washer and the aluminum.

Here's a related question since I'll be installing a pair of these on my truck too. How tight should those things be? The spring is super stiff in the NOS ones I have and I'm wondering how far I should have to stretch it when positioning the little receivers on the wing.

    Thx!

Mine are tight but probably not more than 1/2 the total length of pull. Hope this is helpful.
