Thread: Fuel pump

    Default Fuel pump

Hello, recently I replaced my fuel pump on my series III 2.25L. Anyway, I felt no resistance pushing the new fuel pump onto the block and then tightening it down. The pump isn't sending fuel and yet I can hand prime it fine with the little lever. Have I done something wrong? or is it a bad pump? Its brand new. I was told by a friend that it has to be put on just right so the crank or cam hits the plunger arm just right. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,

What was wrong with your old pump? I've seen them wear the cam down so they won't work before. If that was what happened with your old one a new one would have no lobes to actuate it when installed.
