Default Advice: How to fix MudShield Mounting point (Under top of fender)

    Gargggg.....

Replacing the Mud Shields on the Right and Left.

This is a snapshot of the right side TOP mud shield mount. The Holes are where the clips used to be located. Now there's not much left to mount anything to. I "thought" I'd try and rivet a piece in, but I think it's asking too much of the rivets and mount.

Any opinions on what to do?

I removed the old brackets by drilling the spot welds. Made two new brackets and riveted them through the top of the fender. I used rubber well nuts (also known as expansion nuts) instead of the original hardware. They are non corrosive and provide a small gap between the bracket and mud shield which should also help with future corrosion.
