    Default Canister Oil Filter Leak

I just performed my first oil change in my 1979 Series III Petrol, with the original canister style oil filter, and when I go to start it back up it is leaking heavily from the canister. I removed the old gasket and installed the new so that isn't it. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Any instruction would be greatly appreciated.

Post what the problem was in case someone else has the same issue. This thread as it stands now provides zero help.

Also, was it leaking before you replaced the Oil Filter. This could indicate that a previous oil change did not include removing the old O ring. It's been known for 2 or 3 O rings to be in place, thus a good seal is not achieved.
