Default 64 Land Rover Series 2A part identification

Can anyone help identify where is part came from? I’ve been restoring a 64 109 series 2A and found it unmarked in a box of parts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Mounts to the tunnel cover, passenger side. 4X selector - the thinner shaft that the yellow knob fixes to - is stabilized by it.
