Default 92 3.9 auto stuck in park

Oh my, wiggle wiggle worked for months, now can't get it out of park. I can see the finger just moving out of the way and the shift lever moves a little more after depressing the finger lock buttin but won't move far enough to get outta park. Any ideas ? 3.9 auto RR country. Thanks!

You've got a Brake light or switch failure, or blown fuse (or bad wire). There's a solenoid in the shifter housing that won't let you shift out of park until it gets power from the brake electrics. You can take the cover off the shifter and push the solenoid pin out of the hole (back into the solenoid) in the shifter gate, or pop the whole solenoid out. Bob's your Uncle...
