Thread: Universal Fuel Sender

    Default Universal Fuel Sender

I purchased an universal fuel sender from our hosts and I am not sure if I assembled it correctly as the fuel gauge reads full when full, but empty when it is at half a tank. The little clips allow the float to spin on the rod that is connected to the sender. So I am not sure if I installed the sender correctly to bring with.

Is there a way to adjust or a trick to assembling the rod that connects the float to the sender? Any tips would be appreciated.

It sounds to me that the float arm is not long enough. The full arc of the float should approximate to the depth of the tank.

Agreed, if you extend the float further down the wire, it should read a little better, always have to start thinking about filling up when my gauge is down around 1/4 anyway, not the most reliable thing out there,
