Thread: ABS High Pressure Hose hot to touch

Default ABS High Pressure Hose hot to touch

I just replaced the ABS pump on my 90 Classic, and after runnning for 2-3 seconds, the high pressure hose gets extrememly hot.

What turns the pump off? Is it the pressure switch in the pump body, or the the relays? Could my pump be dead heading into either a defective ac***ulator or ABS modulator/booster?

Help! - hope everyone is planning on using this new version to post and reply to threads.

Check the pump's ground wire. If loose, corroded or broken, you could be grounding through the steel braided hose.
