Default NAS Series 3 72-74 options

Did all North American Spec Series 3's come without Alpine windows? Mine has the Safari Top, that allum heat sheild on top of the SW top and it has no roof top vents/ alpine windows. I've done a search and all the pictures I've seen are like the one I own. Also did they all come with Overdrive as an option or standard feature?
I know that some came with 15" or 16" steel wheels but with how many spare tires? I can mount one on the hood, behind the center seat inside the truck or on the rear door.

I have 88 74 series three and was blessed enough to get the window sticker. On mine the sun sheet or tropical roof was an option, the alpine windows were not available or the vents. Overdrive on the 74 was not an option either. The wheels and tires were all 15" and were fitted with goodyear ultra grip tires, these were a thin mud type tire with the spare being placed behind the drivers/passenger seat. The spare tire carrier on the hood was an option for a cost of $15.00 and the tropical roof was $61.30. I do not believe that the 88 S3 models came from the factory with anything but 15" tires and wheels. Also in 74 only about 500 were imported to the states. hope this helps.

This is correct; the US-spec Series III was no longer a full-blown trop-top, it didn't have vents or alpines, it only had a sunsheet. A PO of mine swapped mine for a full trop-top.

Around '68 or so, the wheels for Rovers for North America were 15" wheels, and 88"-only anymore, they quit bringing in 109", and quit the 16" wheels.

They also cut back on color options: marine blue, pastel green, limestone, and poppy red were your choices.

The best summary I can think of off the top of my head would be ECR's:

    Also, there's a bit on LR-FAQ:
