... probably too late for this year but if anyone recognizes the addresses and knows of a change - give them a shout for next year. Thanks.
GUY FAWKES '07 Schedule:
Thursday: Welcome to show up anytime, there will still be work in progress, tent'ish thing to go up, wood to saw/stack for the small welcoming fire pits (that's small compared to the big one!), I'll be brush hogging trail heads etc.
Those arriving late know where the floor is, door will be open and dogs will be warm.
Friday:
Breakfast in the house - I'll do a full'ish English breakfast - a southern one without the black pudding (It's hard enough finding good bacon!).
Possible scouting new trails and generally getting Jiggy with it.
Lunch and dinner will be what ever we can throw together. No compulsory Marmite.
Saturday: The Diner at the end of the road 'KC's', will be opening early at 7 am - especially for us so I expect those staying there to get the heck up and join the rest of us!
Lunch will be an amalgam of cold stuff in the tent over the road.
Martie is doing Chilly and something else warm for the evening, I'll have the grill going over the road for communal burgers etc.
Unless the weather is crap - most of the socialising will be 'over the road' this year.
Sunday: Diner open at 8 for their buffet - if there is a lot here on Sat and are staying, I can see about opening earlier.
Other Info
For those who haven't been here before, there are a couple of do's and dont's - reasonably straight forward - common sense really as this is our home and a working horse farm with hay fields and of course this all happens with the grace of my wife Martie!
Keep to the edges of the fields at all times unless marked differently.
Keep all vehicles over the road unless in need of repair or airing up for the trip home.
There will be a porta John, (with air freshener) - please use it.
No boots or dogs in the house please - the mud room will be ok. Widget is getting old, deaf and senile.
Tents can be put up in the arena - parking adjacent but outside of it.
Trailers and road tyres will be given the best shot for exit, so don't crowd the field entrance/bonfire area with Rovers (and others).
Previous Guy Fawkers can go where ever, you know the trails, newbies can get a tour if wanted or just hang with the veterans.
Only 'English' English will be spoken - so no 'fenders', 'hoods', 'al-oo-min-um' or 'wrenches' etc. (its wings, bonnets, al-U-min-ee-um and 'spanners') and anyone who doesn't know who Guy Fawkes is will have to sit in the chair - on the bonfire!
Food / beer / snacks can be brought along if you want - would be appreciated naturally.
BRING CAMP CHAIRS AND HAVE THEM LABELED SOMEWAY - They'll be needed for the tent and or the house.
One of these years someone's going to bring a copy of 'The Gods must be crazy' for Fri night!
Anyone coming up through PA able to do me a favour by picking something up for me - let me know.
Update # 2
Will be sent out Wed evening with the Weekends weather forecast and the hours of the nearest gas (damn it...) that's 'petrol' station and my cell number just in case.
Safe trip. See you whenever.
