Putting Modern Defender Front End on a 109...?

Hi. I wouldn't mind doing what was done with this Defender but to a 109 4 door.

Won't I need a longer hood?
Has anyone done this modification b4?

Any direction would be helpful. Thank you.

P.S. Something else I would like to do is put the fender flares from a modern defender onto a 109. These two are really the only reason I don't really want a 109 and only want a 110 or 90.

in the last 17 yrs ive done quite a few of them what you need is: a defender bonnet, hindges, radiator panel,and grille, i also use a defender radiator due to my conversions were used with gm 6 cyl's, you will remove the bonnet, breakfast and radiator, install the defender bonnet and position the radiator panel toward the front of the fenders and forward of where the breakfast bolted on by looking at a picture of a defender you can eye this, the next thing is you have to fab up a rectangular frame of angle iron that will sit inside the radiator panel and bolt frame to the fenders while sandwiching in the radiator panel and drill holes bolting it to the mounts where the breakfast bolts to the frame and far monts to this to accept the radiator, you can use your series striker pin and latch and relieve the panel to accomidate it.....

I'm dying to know why? nothing wrong with the Series front end. Headlights in the middle keeps them from falling out when you bash into trees and the neighbors' trash cans.

Fender flares only neccesary when the tires protrude from under the vehicle. you can always fit a 110 rear tub and front wings and then fit the flares. or you can get the flares tat are sold for modified series vehicles. personally I think the flares look silly if the tires are totally contained within the wheel well. it's the LR equivalent of a 4" chrome exhasut tip.

though given your idea of what is important in a LR, perhaps that comparison is lost on you. to each their own...

here's a link to a 109 SW that was built using a defender bulkhead and front end. the used the series panel behind the defender front grill, just with the top lopped off to allow the bonnet to close. looks pretty ***y:
