Put in new plugs tonight and it didn't help which I'm sure is of no surprise to anyone. Too cold to tear into it tonight but do I need a replacement gasket if I take the top off? By the way its a Weber 34ICH.

Do you mean a new gasket on the Weber? No, just remove it gently and it will be fine.

This task does not take that long. If it's as cold in Brewer as it is on Vinalhaven, you might want to remove the carb from the car and do this work inside!

I've hit the my frustration quota for one night and work comes early tomorrow so I'll let it go for now. Luckly I have alternate transportation for tomorrow. I'll be able to tackle it after work. Is there a website to shows how to tear down a Weber?

    Jim,
This is way more than you need, but this link will take you to some pages of a book on Webers. The link is here.

But you're not really diassembling much. Give me a call tomorrow night if you have questions. I'll be at home. PM me if you've lost the number.

    Best wishes,

Sounds like a vacuum leak, or a clogged jet. Pull the carb apart and clean the s@#t out of it. Then check for vacuum leaks. Good Luck.

    Default On the road again

Finally got it fixed after getting back from a trip to VA. I checked the sediment bowl and there was crap in the bottom of it. I checked the inline filter which has replaceable guts (clear glass with a replaceable element) and found some of the same crap but not inside the filter only on the outside. Still wouldn't idle so I cleaned the idle jet and it runs like a top. Thanks to all those that helped me thru this.
