I just purchased a 1993 COUNTY LWB in good shape. but i pulled on the hood release and the handle along with about an inch of the rod broke smooth off. now can someone guide me in the right direction to the best way to pop the hood with out tearing to much up?

    Thanks alot.

I would start with pulling the grill of if you can. there are tabs that lock the grill in place right under the lip of the hood. you might be able to squeeze a small screw driver under there. then peer up towards the latch and see if ou can actuate the linkage.

Can you see any of the broken cable on the inside of the drivers footwell?
A well placed pairs of pliers and you should be able to pull on the broken end to "pop" the bonnet till you can effect a repair.

Definately try to gain access to remaining cable from within the cockpit. As Mr. Parker mentioned a well placed pair of vise grips should do the job. cheers! It will be much uglier to work it from the front end.

ok guys thanks for the tips but im still having trouble releasing the hood. i can find the cable right behind the mount. my question is it seems extremely hard to get it to budge. is this the correct cable i should be pulling on if so should it be that hard. im just trying to avoid breaking more things.

    thanks guys
