    Default 8000 vs. 10000 winch?

Hello to all, as this is my first post. I recently ordered a 10000lb. rated winch. This winch is backordered for up to 30 days. They have an 8000lb. in stock now! Will an 8000 do or should I just wait out the backorder?

    Thanks for your input

If you can stand the wait, I'd go with the 10k.

I have a 12k in my D2 and I wouldn't want to go much lower after using it a few times.

The reply would be based on the use of the winch.
    Self recovery? Group recovery? Logging?

The bigger the value the less work the motor has to do, thus it will last longer.

This would be for self recovery, mud mainly.
