    Default Short Block Question

My 00 Disco II has a cracked block, my 96 Disco I a smashed front end, I'm told I can't put the 96 engine and transmission in the Disco II (or can I ?). Can I use the top end of the Disco II (heads, intake, ignition, ect.) on the short block from the 96 Disco? Are the blocks different?

Unless I am mistaken (this does happen to me) it is the same 4.0 engine block.. the big difference is the switch from GEMS to Bosch.

Yes, the CPS has a different mount, along with all sorts of electro gizmo's that are not compatible.
