    Default Oil & Filter

    I wonder what kind of oil and filter is best for DII.

    what ever the manufacture recommends is good for oil. they don't require synthetic oil so i wouldn't waste your money unless you are trying to go longer on your oil changes. and i don't necessarily recommend that unless you are doing a lot of highway driving.
    as far as the filter i would suggest a better brand. if fram is an option i personally don't like that one so i wouldn't use it. I always use the factory filters and purchase oil else where

    I usually pick up oil filter from the dealer.
    Yes, It's a couple of dollar more but I skip Starbucks coffee..

    Default Service Tech recommend

    I spoke with my service rep not long ago about using synthetic in my Disco II, thinking it would be better, and he cautioned against it saying that it will leak like a pig. Since synthetic oil changes typically cost more than regular at the dealer, I'm taking his advice. He's pretty even keeled and tells me like it is.
