    Default going to purchase my first d90

    This weekend I am going to look at a 1994 softtop w/50,000 miles.They are asking $23000.Is this a good year?is the 3.9 a good engine?Is there a better year I should be looking at?maybe a 97 auto?What price would be a great deal for this 94?Any help would be appreciated .thanks Brian

    $23K isn't a bad price if it checks out well, but '94s are showing up in the high teens. Check the fit of the soft top, and look for ANY rust in the frame, especially around the rear crossmember and gas tank area. Also on the sills, under the doors. Check the bottom edges of the doors too
    The 3.9 is fine, as long is it never got severely overheated. It was a bit light in the 110, but for a 90 it's ok.
    '97s are great for the auto, but I don't much like GEMS EFI systems. What's your primary use? City, country or offroad.
