    Default replacing the shift light bulb-auto

    hello all-

    wondering how to replace the bulb that lights the gear selector-its an auto of course-

    also...I saw this posted already (with no replies)-changing the bulb in the clock-anyone have any ideas??

    It's been awhile since.... if I remember, you have to snap the trim plate forward (or back?), then it can lift up, rotate it so that it'll be out of the way (I think you can slip it up and off the shifter w/o removing the shift handle, but if not, you don't have to get it that far up).

    Anyway, once you have the trim plate off, the bulbs are accessible there, snapped down into their holders. Just remove and replace. I caution, don't drop one down in there, they're a PITA to fish back out if you do. Once the bulbs are swapped, refit the trim plate, a bit forward, then snap it backwards into place.
