    Default CV Joint replacement

I have a 1996 Discovery and love it and never really had any major problems until now. It has about 132k miles on it and its in pretty good condition. But recently my driverside CV joint started to make noise and i new i would need to change the CV joint.

My question is i plan to do it my self. Has anyone done this before? Any special tools needed? Any site that can help with instructions? I do have the Rave cd.

    Thanks
    Luky

    Luky-

Check the lube level first and top off with Genuine swivel ball lube.

You may luck out and not need to do it now.

Sometime ago I had the sound of what I thought were my tires rubbing the fronf bumper plastic. Turns out my right side CV was bone dry.

I was thinking the worse but what the hell, I spent 10 bucks and filled her up...no noise and it's been over 6 months.

may be worth a try first

However, if you do...get a hub socket wrench and brass punch before you start....won't get too far without it
