14cux ECU 1995 disco 1 (3.9 engine)

how do you know if a 14cux ECU is bad. I have replaced fuel pump and injectors only to find truck has fire at number 1 spark plug and fuel at fuel pump but will not start. The injectors are not fireing. I have put test light on 39 wire at ECU and when the engine is turned over the test light blinks. This tells me that ECU is Bad. Any other test would greatly be appreciated!! Patrick

The 3.9 Discovery I has the same EFI fault code system as the Classic Range Rover.
