I have a non turbo 2.5 that has to go to make room for my 200tdi.
So, what's a good used Defender 200 Tdi assy worth?

That's what I paid for my set-up. It's all there - rebuilt, bench tested engine, starter, alternator, power steering pump, exhaust manifold, turbo, intercooler, etc. Included a new tdi radiator. Cost included shipping, transfers, and customs. Arrived at the local warehouse, had it loaded and drove home. Seems expensive, but the convenience of everything in one package hooked me. Took care of everything. Cheaper than trying to swap in a Cummins.
Before naysayers jump on me for the Cummins comment, my issues come from first hand experience. I dropped a 4BTA into my 85 Jimmy. I'm glad I did it, 20 mpg at 75mph on an Auburn after market rear differential, but expensive swap to say the least. That's why I went with this 200tdi option. Didn't want to go through that pain and wallet suffering again. Delayed my Rover build for a year and a half. Not the only reason, work as well, but it just sucked my spare cash flow. Better to drop something in that works out of the box.
