it looks coiled, claims the 300 tdi is a 6 banger, i don't see the turbo. i guess a snuck in from kanookland and attached to a beyond salvage series' title is what this might be

    "Updated with modern components"

Step 1: Remove '65 VIN plate from titled pile. Drag remains to scap yard.
Step 2: Drive late model Defender under VIN plate; afix plate.
    Step 3: Pray:

No one ever checks the chassis for the other VINs
You never get pulled over for a traffic violation
    Your insurance company is stupid
You could pull this off with a Series-to-Series VIN swap, but you'd be asking for trouble with a Series-to-Defender; especially with ~30 years between the "restored" '65 and the "donor" Defender.

    Cool

its definitely interesting. i'd love to have it, don't get me wrong but.....

    1. seems like a lot of cancer for a 3 year old "no-expense-spared" "meticulous" professional build.
    2. if its a six, its the only one i've ever seen with only four injectors.
    3. you can, however, barely see the inboard side of what seems to be the turbo and the associated plumbing on the left side of the engine bay (right side of pic).
    4. heated seats, ice cold air!! i'd be happy with warmed air and if all the windows would roll down! in my rrc!! (although i get all the hot air i never wanted (read - always) during 100 degree summers!!

'91 RRC, SWB (tuned up quite nicely, new water pump, needs radiator repaired or replaced and brakes!) Sold😔
'74 S III, diesel, 109, rhd, hard top
(patiently awaiting cummings 4bt, nv 4500, and np200!)
    Finally IN PROGRESS!! Sold😖

    Default Decade Shift

My favorite part is the opening assessment of the previous winning bidder:

    "clown/fraud/dreamer/poseur winning bidder."

The truck is interesting, but there may be something "Rotten in Denmark" here...

Original engine was probably a 6 cylinder.

    Original specs from the VIN:
    Model: Land Rover, Series IIA
    Body type: Basic
    Wheel base: 109in
    Engine: petrol
    Model years: 1962-1971
    Destination: Export, left-hand drive (LHD)
Design: C: Two significant design modifications
Suffix used from April 1966 till April 1967

Be interesting to know how they successfully extended it from a 109 to a 110. Such a major change to the chassis will have to be certified.

Maybe it was always a Defender but had been written off and had the older VIN plate scavenged to make it road legal again.

There was a guy selling a really nice D-90 a couple months ago with the exact same deal, titling a Defender with a much older Series tag. It's not hard to do and will get by DMV in most states. Insurance is another story.

Well Northshore Sportscars make themsleves look a bit daft referring to this vehicle as a Defender 109 - it even has the 'Land Rover 110' & a Defender badge on the front as a dead give away.

It looks to be an Ex MOD 110 truck that was produced from the mid 80's on. It would have started life with a 2.5NA diesel 4 pot with IIRC an LT77 gearbox. Considering it could be up to 25 years old now the rot isn't too bad - someone just chose not to **** it properly before putting on the pretty paint.

It looks to have been extensively rebuilt - just not on a series frame.

the defs have to be at least 25 y/o to import right? i think it's less in canada, maybe 20 y/o. it also could have been in the canadian defence force. again my guess, a late 80's early 90's xmod (which means is has not just been smoked in but it has smoked too) def 110 with some nice work done on it and a hot title
