    Good morning, I am the new owner of #720. Drivable, but needs some work. Still has the original 6, although the air cleaner unit has been replaced.

    Hi Michel, congratulations! What are your plans for this one?

    Hello Everyone,

    I have a couple of 6 cylinder heads which are stamped 542350, and purportedly Weslake heads, and came with some other items which are clearly NADA 109 related.

    The NADA parts catalogue which Jim Chandler was kind enough to provide me as a pdf, shows the cylinder head assembly as part no. 542349, one digit lower.

    In searching the standard Series 2a parts catalog, the 542350 does not appear at all. The standard 2.6 liter petrol cylinder head in this parts catalog is listed as 564202.

    Any thoughts on the discrepancy or what head(s) I might have?

    Thanks in advance.

    Rod

    Hi Rod;
    The Rover 3 Litre Parts Catalogue for the 110 Saloon and Coupe shows 542349 as Cylinder Head Assembly, less Studs Engines with suffix letter "C" and Mk III. 542351 is a Cylinder Head Gasket. 542349 is the Westlake Head.
    Obviously the Part Number was not in play when Parts Catalogue 4825 was printed.

    Thanks for the response Jim. So would you say that 542350 is related to a Rover saloon or or something else? Best, Rod

    Hi Jim, As a follow on, I now have 3 different sources who have visually confirmed that the part number 542350 is a NADA cylinder head, despite the catalog specifying the part number one digit lower at 542349. I came across this same type of one digit discrepancy as it related to the three inch wide drums; have you come across any other type of part number issues like this? And, thanks again for sending me the NADA parts catalog; very helpful. Best regards, Rod

    I do not know yet as I have to see what kind of condition is the engine. It's running, plated and insured. I need to do a compression check and determine if the head is still good. The 109 has 102,000 miles, and has done only 3000 miles in the past 20 years. Chassis was repaired in many places. At least the repairs have been well made.
