i've a weber 32/34 dgv. it's a 2 barrel, lots of power and about 13 to 15 mpg in town. drawbacks, shallow float bowl doesn't work well on extreme angles, had to mod the 2.25 w/ a 2.5 cam, 1 3/4" exhaust, 8:1 head with the block shaved a bit to get it up to about 8.5:1 compression but now it runs nice, sounds a bit hot roddish when accelerating, still like a tractor when idling, all i need now is one of the factory intakes from a euro series iii that came with the weber.

my other is a zennith original from the late 60s. i like it. it getting about 11 mpg but that's a stock 2.25 pulling around and 109 ambulance

I have the Weber 34ICH. I like it but it does tend to run lean on highway runs. You can rejet them pretty easy but since I'm getting pretty good performance with this one and about 15-18 mpg, I've decided to leave well enough alone.

I had an SU carb on a 2.5 liter and it ran like a raped ape. Unfortunately it returned 10 mpg at best.

Tim what elevation are you at. I'm at sea level if that makes any difference.

I've got a Rochester now and really like it. Getting around 12mpg last I checked (aka last time the truck actually ran).

I previously had the Weber 34 and just didn't have good luck with it at all, but others like them.
