ill be doing mine tomorrow..
any tips or tricks I should be aware of..
Have done several in my life.. just none on a 2.25P

Should it be installed dry or with a bit of sealant?

I sealed it.

In a couple weeks, crawl back under there and re-tighten all the bolts. Some loctite probably isn't a bad idea either.

Check your oil pump screen while you are in there. Just make sure there isn't junk in there.

Cans of brake cleaner are your friend. If there is nasty gunk/grime, hose it off with that stuff. I think Advance Auto has a sale on those right now.

Be prepared to clean sludge out of the oil pan. Its gonna be NASTY but such is life.

Lastly, make sure the truck sits for a while before dropping the oil pan. That way you won't have oil dripping everywhere.

Sound advice!! They will loosen up after a few miles.

Not all gaskets available are the same. First time I used sealent and a gasket that came with the truck as spare parts, leaked pretty good. Second time I took the advice of an old mechanic and used grease to seal it & a new gasket from our hosts...considerably thicker and it hasn't leaked since...until it spun a bearing!
