Hey all
I did try and search first for like subject matter. No luck though. Perhaps someone out there could shed some light on this for me.
I was driving home a couple days ago and I noticed a burning smell then smoke. My A/c system has been starting to "hum" a little louder in the last couple months so I instantly thought it had finally burnt out. Upon inspection, however, it was the condenser fan motor that had crapped the bed.
I didn't think that was normal. Ive never heard of one burning up at 80k. Sure it could have just been a freek thing, however, I didn't know if it had been caused to burn out prematurely because of some other underlying problem that say caused it never to cycle on and off but rather always stay engaged.
I can't find any info online, here, or other chat rooms. So, I figured I'd ask for help.
One other note:
The humming noise I'd was hearing I attributed to the fan. But it's still here with the new fan. I don't want to burn out another fan at $350 a pop.
