    exploded diagram????

Anyone know where i might be able to locate an exploded diagram of an axle from a 91 range rover with abs? My problem is in reference to

    http://www.roversnorth.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=10131.

(I realize this is not the proper forum but the RRC page doesn't get nearly as much traffic and I know there are a bunch of very inteligent and informed members here regularly so I figured I'd ask. I really need to get myself a service manual!)

    Thanks guys

It may be in those pictures somewhere, but i'm not seeing it. i've looked at those pics over and over. I called you guys and spoke to eric and explained what i think i need and he sent me the above mentioned part number, but i cant find it in the online catalog and he couldn't explain why not. So.......IDK. maybe i'm just not familiar enough with it all, but I see front end pics on the two pages you suggest. I plan to pull it all apart monday and see what I can find and cross my fingers that what eric sent me is what i need.

Another question. What lube can i run in the rear differential? 90W gear oil from napa?

      Thanks les

actually eric sent me one gasket and one seal per tire that i have never seen before. hopefully thats what I need.

gasket is fairly large, approximately 6 inch diameter. seal is small, approximately 1 inch inside and 2 inch outside diameter. ( i don't have them here at the house with me now.)

        anyway??????

also les, does RN offer an owners guide for RRC as they do (at least did) offer for series vehicles (as pictured below)?

              Jim,

All the data we have now is on-line.
The best way to keep it up to date.
We offer the DVD's for $34.50, let me know, they even work on mac's (with windows installed )

Yes, 75-90w will be reet grand in the rear axle, same goes for the front, though the CV grease Nicrotec is better, so we have found.

well i disassembled it last night. looks like the parts that eric sent me are going to work. eric said it was ftc 951 but what he sent me was ftc5268 (rnd 671) oil seal stub axle w/ abs, $3.80, and ftc 3650 gasket sph/stub axle r/r, $2.47.
I still maintain that all the pictures online are front end stuff. can't find any pics of the rear end, but when i search by part number they come up.
I have the the dvd manual in route now so hopefully that will help out in the future.
as for the nicrotec, can't find that either. i'm still going to have to order 2 hub caps (dust caps) later today, so if someone can help me out with the nicrotec i would appreciate it.

                  thanks

ps, this process/project is starting to make me feel crazy (dumb)!!

I see you ordered the DVD, good. I'll have to update website with Range Rover Classic rear axle diagram.

You might also want to consider this preventative maintenance from our technical information tips section.

                      Range Rover Rear Axle Leaks

While servicing Range Rovers we have noticed a common problem of a blocked rear axle vent. Eventually, this can lead to seal failure and contamination of your rear brakes. The problem is in the banjo fitting at the rear axle. When you change the rear axle oil you hear a hiss of pressure released, or sense that the hypoid oil is being pushed out, then the vent is likely blocked. To clean it, remove the banjo bolt (as its name implied, it resembles the body of a banjo). Clean the bolt out and clear the hole in the banjo with a small wire. This simple maintenance step will save you from more serious problems.

[note: I think Les was ref. that Nicrotec is better in the front as CV joint grease than 90w gear oil. Yes, use 75-90w gear oil for the rear differential.
