    73 Lightweight stalling problem

Have a 73 Lightweight with 2.25 gas engine, weber carb. Ran fantastic 2 days ago, now wants to stall at idle. Have to manually choke it a little in order to run smoothly. Have tried cleaning carb with carb spray cleaner and replaced fuel filter. Neither has solved problem. Could it be time for a new fuel pump, carb rebuild, or just new carb. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Check the idle circuit jet. It's a brass screw on the engine side of the carb. It's common for this to get blocked by small pieces of debris and will also cause the symptoms you describe.

check the voltage across the points as well - if they haven't been replaced in a while, go ahead and swap out the points and condenser.

Make sure they are adjusted correctly and are clean.
