So for months now I've been hearing of you guys getting your rigs up above 55mph and cruising there, even without an overdrive. I just didn't feel my rig wanted or felt comfortable going that fast. Until yesterday I had somebody follow me and give me my speed when my speedo hit 45 and when I pushed mine to 55, Much to my dismay 45 was really 54 and 55 was actually almost 70.Now in noway would I want to push it to 70, But it solves my question how come you fellas were so much faster than I. I'm putting in an overdrive as we speak not to go faster because I really like puttin' around I'm just hoping it works a little less at terminal velosity.
I've got the right tires on I guess the speedo is wacked?

Any way thanks for listening, god knows my wife doesn't want to hear me ramble on about my rover any longer.

What numbers arer on the bottom of your speedometer? You are running 6.00 or 7.00 16 tires (or similar ~28" tall 15" tire)?

Mine is the opposite, at (about) 55 it reads 70. I figure the speedo is about 12-15 off on the plus side. My odometer doesn't work either so I am going to either try to rebuild it or find a service to send it to this winter when I've got some other work planned. The first time I looked over and saw the speedo on 70 I thought "no way in heck that's correct".

That's why I loved my KPH speedo! I was always going 60% (is it?) faster than I thought I was going! 50 KPH and I was toting along at 30mph, a happy clam thinking I was burning up the pavements.

Reminds me of when the kids were really young. We'd set the clocks ahead and have New Years at 10PM, and everyone would be asleep by 11 (still a late night for the Rose family)
