Yet another likely stupid question.

My shop manual shows a fuse block in the circuit diagram for my '73 S 3. Of course it neglects to tell one where it is located and I cannot find it anywhere. It is a figment of the author's imagination or am I just blind and missing the obvious?

Under the steering wheel on the column. It only has 4 fuses so it isn't big.

Thanks. That may be the one place I didn't look. Is the manual correct that only 35 amp fuses should be used? Seems like really high amperage that wouldn't protect much.

It doesn't:eek:. These things are underfused and undergrounded. Adding an auxilliary fusebox and beefing up grounds helps(the headlamp circuit ground for instance).

There was a thread about this before--TeriAnn explained it, so it must be on her website...

...Yes--Here it is here (http://www.expeditionlandrover.info/fuses.html).

Found it and upon opening it also found the two original spares still in the holder in the cover that have been sitting there for almost 40 years.

GIve them a try!

Lucas stuff either craps out in a couple months or lasts forever.
