So, in getting ready for my move across the country I re-found a box of seats from my 69 ex-mil p-up. The seats are falling apart with really dry and crumbly foam.

Should I just chuck the seats or remove all the dry foam and dry cracking vinyl and keep the bases for future seat making?

Not sure if you mean the benches in back or the cab seats, but if it was me I'd keep the frames and one of the seat covers for a pattern and ditch the rest. Then in 10 years I'd lose some important bits and toss it all.

The military cushions are 100% useless. However the frames are ok-ish.

I mean, hold onto them and in a year try to sell em off.

Keep them exactly as they are - don't tear them apart. They may be of great use to someone who needs military seats to use as 'cores'.

If the cushions weren't so dry, cracking and so on I would keep everything.

Most likely I will get rid of the foam and elephant hide that is too far gone to save. I will try to keep enough of the hide to act as a template and save the metal bases of these front seats.
