Is it the bottom support for one of those hi-lift jacks? Just guessing! Best regards, Bil

Rear tyre mounting point? Where the swinging tyre mount hooks in a the bottom. The "handle" is a bumperette, that much I do know :)

Hi-lift jack bottom mounting point gets my vote.

I guess I'll have to get a high lift and try it out. :)

It doesn't have any threads or anything like that, just those two studs sticking up. It seems pretty heavy duty so I thought about the swing out tire holder but there are no indications of any other brackets being installed anywhere else.

that is the bumper posts for the tail gate, I had two little reflectors that I stuck on there, no rhyme or reason. Honestly I'm surprised they are still there.

Curious: is there an upper mounting bracket of some sort, or maybe some holes where there was an upper mounting bracket ?

I "photoshoped" it to lighten it up a bit. What would the two pegs be for?

They would (I believe) fit into the standard holes in the base of a HiLift jack (they appear to be the right size and spacing). An upper bracket would keep the jack from lifting up off the pegs.

If you look in the picture there are two holes at the level of the amber turn signal lamp- Our hosts sell a bent metal bracket that looks like it might be that width and maybe was removed by a P.O., though the holes seem kind of small- perhaps it was a home made connector as this seems to be. The truck has a home made roof rack and set of sand ladders that came with it as well.

Thanks for posting the pic of the high lift base, I'm pretty convinced thats what it is now.
