I am hosting a rally at the end of November, that is it begins the Friday after Thanks Giving, and continues until that Sunday. the 26th, 27th, and 28th. I am located in Killingworth CT. I have 250 acres of land with all levels of off road trails. There is a building to stay in but also there is plenty of camping space. If you would like to mapquest the trip my address is 101 paper mill road Killingworth ct 06419. The event is very low key, bring $20 for entrance for the weekend, and all your own food and camping gear.

Aaron,
It shouldn't be that far from norwich, I'd say its just over an hour, it's only about 40-50 minutes (in a series) from mystic.
That being said, I will be home for thanksgiving and should be there saturday or sunday with the white 109.

Does anyone have a need for specific parts? Otherwise I might just try to fill a trailer full of various stuff.

excellent!

you want a wish list to take with you to the rally? I'll start one...

1. early SIIa steering wheel
2. rear x-member grab handles (galvanized, no dents)

I was going to hand deliver it. You did say SoCal, right? ;) It's just that fuel surcharge (aka handling) I'm trying to figure out. :D

Heck I haven't even looked in storage yet to see if I have the stuff. Feel free to ping me at smithco1@gmail.com

I don't know what Tims offering you on the "delivery fee" but I would deliver it for nothing ,zero, zip, nada if you were willing to put me up for say the months of Jan. & Feb. The winters are a real goat humper on the east coast:eek:

Get out of my handling charge! I was going to ask for directions to the beach too but you are under cutting me...

Well, we are all rover family so I can't get too upset. If you have a beer handy at Winter Romp, I swear I won't remember a thing wrong with you. ;)

now now gentlemen... there's plenty of bikini's, sand and 75 degree winter sun out here for everyone. i lived in boston for two years, i know about that nor'easter... it was 80 degrees today in los angeles, has been since may and i'm tired of it!

let's do a vacation home swap. you live in my house for the winter and i'll reside yours.

hell if i had a 250 acre property out here is SoCal I'd host a three day rally myself!

Thanks for a great day out Forrest. Also another big thanks for teaching me about the winch line tricks of the trade.

"Never put a saddle on a dead horse."

I'll remember that one. :thumb-up:

for those of us who could not attend, can we get an explanation of that one?

you put the saddle of the clip on the live part of the wire not the dead end [the short end is the dead part], the u-bolt part of the clip bites into the dead part of the wire, not the live part which would weaken it

He was explaining to me the connection on my winch line. Apparently the previous owner made the final connection incorrectly. Not having taken a course in ropes and pulleys, I had no idea and never identified the potential for disaster.

Sorry to hear it but now you simply have to post some pictures.

Here is my footage. This is of my buddy who was the other nut-case with a trailer in the woods. We were using this trip to see what we could get away with while pulling a utility trailer. :D

Looks like I missed a great weekend, ah well theres always next year. Before I left I did manage to snap this pick of Aaron on top of the pile

Here you go:

More of the dirt mound. Kevin and his RRC making it look easy.
7JvkL-8HxIs

Don showing off his hybrid's skills.
CdJ1fjG7Em0

Dennis did make the hill climb more than once.
L8U3uj3P9d4

Kevin again. Quite happy I should add. :)
F3GdvxAPuWw

And myself.
bBTPOxj_c-8

Back on the trails. Kevin expertly navigates a tight squeeze. Of course the video looses a lot.
WvtkkFXPVek

Dennis with a little bump and grind through the same tight spot. Different camera angle here.
uZk-wue6j_k

I did it too. I chose the tight exit which doesn't look as clean but still gets the job done.

Sorry. No pictures here.
