:cool:I know this has come up before and, yes, I tried a search. NG. My tranny is whinning a bit and I'd like to know what gear oil/additives you all have used (Redline Shockproof, etc.), and what the results have been. Thanks and HooRah! for all the Vets.

I put a cap full of that powdered graphite in mine, in fact all the oily bits. Doesn't perform miracles, but it does help.:thumb-up:

Redline shockproof works really well. Give it a try.

Sounds like Oildag (http://www.grovesindustrial.com/index.php?loc=items_detail&data%5Bhistory%5D=248;249;254;&data%5Bcatalog%5D=1&data%5Bitemcode%5D=ACH+OIL+DAG).

I've heard that graphite causes bearing and other wear in the tranny.
Who carries the Redline? Is it a chain auto store item? Thanks for the input. It's taken me 5 years to get to be a daily driver but a little less high pitched noise would be nice.

Your right. That OilDag sounds like a grinding compound from the specs. I'm going to get rid of it right away. Besides, its a 1930's design of transmission, not a CV. :thumb-up:
