Are you supposed to be able to store the jack crank, hand crank, and lug wrench behind the seats in a 1970 IIA, 88"?

I can see clips back there and could do this on my 1968 but the seat backs won't move more than an inch on my `70. (This seems to be because they're held in place with 2 bolts on the side of the frame holding the seat cushions.)

yes. or at least "yes" for my '66 IIa 88. have the hand crank back there now, but not the other two. my seats fold down almost to 20 degrees.

These parts were behind the front seats on my 73. On my 74 they are mounted to the same type clips behind drivers side back seat.

I have a 88" 1970 IIa and my seats fold down giving clear access to the tools.

Any chance you'd be willing to post a photo of your seats? Especially the from the side so I can see how the seatback is attached? There must be something unusual about mine. - Thanks

I am almost sure that you can remove those solid pins that keep your seat stiff...
