Okay so my rover runs like a top. Just replaced the distributor, o-ring on shifter and new choke cable. Even be fire that it ran great but recently I've noticed a high pitch sound while the engine is running that sounds like a whistle while the engine is running. It seems to get higher as with the throttle.
Could it be the fan bet assembly. I also know of a manifold gasket leak but I don't think it's that. Help! I feel like i'm sitting on s ticking time bomb.

My vote is for the manifold leak. Use a piece of rubber hose up against your ear to pinpoint the location.

Good tip. I'll try that out, cause right now I mostly just open up the bonnet and stare at the engine like a idiot trying to figure out where the noise is coming from.

Make sure your carb is bolted down tightly

One way to find intake leaks is to spray a bit of starting fluid on the manifold gasket while the engine is at idle. If the rpm's increase, you found the leak. Just do it a little at a time so you don't end up with other problems.
